A field guide to cricket in the eastern Midwest

Almost nobody here has seen a match. This guide sets out what you would be looking at — the field, the pitch, who stands where, and what a beginner actually needs, which is very little.

A red cricket ball in the grass of a park field, three stumps with a bat leaning on them behind it, and a chain-link baseball backstop under the trees in the distance.

Eastern Midwest Hub

A nonprofit set up to open cricket to young people across this part of the country — including, especially, the ones who have never held a bat. Four entries in the index above carry no plate number yet. Each gets one as we settle it.
